Academic Calendar 2013
Spring Term 2013: Jan. 14 - April 26 (Spring break dates TBD)
Summer Term 2013: May 13 - July 26
Fall Term 2013: Sept. 9 - Dec. 20 (with Thanksgiving break)
Schedule:
Full-Time Atelier Program:
The Atelier students have full access to the studio 6 days per week. Instruction is provided Monday through Friday between the hours of 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the dates of the term. Students are given the freedom to arrange their schedule to maximize their work each term as they progress the curriculum. We expect the Atelier students to commit a minimum of 18 hours per week to their studio work.
Part-Time Students:
Students who take individual courses on a part-time basis begin with a two day per week schedule that is determined together by the instructors and student. Additional days can be added to this schedule for an additional fee per day.
Tuition For the Full-Time Atelier Program:
Fall and Spring Term is $2,400 per term, Summer Term is $1,700
Tuition For Part-Time or Individual Courses:
The curriculum can be divided into individual courses that are studied on a part-time basis or taken “a’ la carte”. However, each course builds upon the next so the beginning courses are required prerequisites for the upper level drawing and painting courses.
Below is an example of the fee structure for individual courses based on a two day per week schedule during a typical Fall or Spring Term as of 2013:
Old Master Drawing: $750
Cast Drawing: $850
Figure Drawing/ Painting: $1200
Anatomy: $265
Cast Painting: $850
Still Life Painting: $950
Portrait Drawing: $1200
Portrait Painting: $1400
Additional days per week are about $100 dollars per day (for example, the Old Master drawing course would be $850 for 3 days per week).
An initial deposit of $250 is required before each term to secure your place.
A payment schedule is optional. We offer a 2 installment plan with a $49 dollars fee, or a 3 installment plan with a $99 dollars fee.
At TAFA, our academic year is divided into trimesters. We only accept a limited number of students and working artists who are passionate and dedicated to a rigorous study of realist drawing and painting.
