Anatomical Figure Drawing!

Figure drawing by TAFA student Michael Pianta

Spend your evenings at TAFA …

Beginning this week  TAFA is offering an 11 week evening course on Monday/Wednesday from 6.30pm-8.30pm. The format is as follows:

Monday Figure Drawing Lab: the Figure Lab is designed to compliment the Anatomy course and it is a non-instructed time for artists to draw from the figure for multi-day poses that will include classical poses, action poses, foreshortening, and draped poses. The Figure Lab is coordinated by the upper level TAFA students. It will meet every Monday from 6:30-9 pm beginning September 15th, and will run for 11 weeks.

Wednesday Anatomical Figure Drawing: This course is designed for artists – both painters and sculptors – to learn the fundamentals of human anatomy and proportion. It is open to artists of any level from beginner to advanced and will help any artist improve their general drawing skills and understanding of the human form.

The course format will include a 20-25 minute lecture on a specific anatomical feature and then we will draw from the model with a focus on the anatomy covered in the lecture.  This course is instructed by TAFA Director and Instructor Ron Cheek.

Cost: both courses can be taken separately for $285 Dollars, or combined as a Mon/Wed Course for a discount of $500 Dollars. There is also a per session drop-in rate of $30 Dollars.

Purpose: Our evening courses provide professionals the flexibility to draw from a live-model along with gaining knowledge about anatomy. Additionally, the evening courses provide our TAFA daytime students with extra training as they pursue mastery of figurative drawing and painting. TAFA Evening Courses are open to all levels of experience and to anyone with an interest in figurative realist art.

You can build your artistic portfolio, tailor your college courses – or just indulge your creative side! Come draw with us and become part of the TAFA community.
