Ron A. Cheek the founder and director of the Texas Academy of Figurative Art. Cheek is a contemporary realist painter whose work reflects an academic, Old Master quality combined with contemporary subject matter and content.
Cheek is from Texas and began his career in architecture and holds a Bachelor of Environmental Design from Texas A&M University. Cheek also holds a Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling from Colorado Christian University. In 1997 Cheek went to Florence, Italy to study full time at the prestigious Florence Academy of Art. In 2001 Cheek returned to Texas to paint full time.
In 2007 Cheek founded the Texas Academy of Figurative Art with a handful of students who were seeking a true realist based art education.

Andrew Boatright is a drawing and painting instructor for the Texas Academy of Figurative Art. Boatright hails from Sweetwater, Texas and began his education with a business degree from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. After a short lived career in the mortgage business he began to seek out realist based art instruction. Boatright was part of the initial group of students who helped begin the Texas Academy of Figurative Art… so he knows where all the skeletons are buried.
Boatright has quickly developed into a gifted and passionate realist painter and draughtsman who is on his way to promising career.
