Katy Hamilton Wins ARC Scholarship!

HamiltonARCCongratulations to TAFA student Katy Hamilton!

Katy has won a second place award in the Art Renewal Center’s Annual Scholarship Award! To be clear, this is actually a competition among many student-artists who compete every year for recognition and scholarship funds. Katy is in her 4th year at TAFA and has continually improved in her artistic skill, discipline, and vision. Katy has been working on a series of still-life images of objects she and father have gathered over the years while walking along the banks of the Trinity River. She has been diligent to apply and has won a second place award among many student-artists from very prestigious schools. You can see her work here: Treasures of the Trinity

The Art Renewal Center has been a strong proponent of the Atelier Movement and supporter of artists working in the contemporary realist manner. Their website is a hub of information on artists, schools, galleries & museums, and art historical essays.

Great Job Katy!
